Do you feel like rolling up your sleeves and doing something about the plastic soup? Then sail with a Do Something Wad trip to the Rif. That is a beautiful sandbank, in the middle of the Wadden Sea, between Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. Due to the current of the sea, a lot of waste ends up here: from vacuum cleaner hoses and fishing nets, to shoes and even pieces of an airplane. What man has dumped, the sea puts there. At Lauwersoog, we pass through the lock on the Raaf, a real fishing boat. From there, we sail with the current to this unique place, drop dry, explore the plateau and take in as much as possible of what the sea has laid at our feet. Sometimes we drag ourselves along, but at the same time it feels like an enormous honor to be able to do this. Because you see that you can actually do something to make the earth more beautiful. That's how you do Wad!
Practical info
Port of departure and arrival: Lauwersoog, sometimes it is possible to get off at Schiermonnikoog on the way back, see the agenda for this. This is always possible for independently registered groups, who can also depart from Schiermonnikoog. There is room for up to 8 participants. So you can also book this trip with your own group. Price from € 120,- p.p.
NOTE: The time mentioned with the tours is the time of Low Water. Departure is 4-5 hours before Low Water, arrival 4-5 hours after Low Water (depending on wind force and direction).
Three days before departure you will receive, according to the weather forecast, the latest information about the trip, so you already have some idea what to expect.
Covid-19: To give each other more space on board, we sail with fewer guests. We also ask everyone to bring their own food. We do provide coffee, tea and fresh (fresh) drinking water. Furthermore, we adhere to the rules of the RIVM.
