Tourism at Unesco Wadden Sea World Heritage

Wadden Sea, Unesco World Heritage site; awesome and so near. We heartily welcome you to the Dutch and German Wadden Sea area, both by the coast and on the islands. This webpage shows the tourist potential of the stunning nature reserve at a glance.

The Wadden Sea is the largest tidal flats system in the world, where natural processes run undisturbed along the coast. It accommodates over 10,000 species of plants and animals, which continuously adapt to the area’s ever-changing environment. Yearly, the area attracts more than 10 million migratory birds for a stopover. The coastal area is known for its culture and history. Typical for the area are the artificial dwelling hills and the roman churches. It is characterized by small-scale tourism. A perfect place for nature lovers.
