From July 26 to August 16, Kunst in Kolhorn (KiK) presents the exhibition Hertelân , Frisian for Land of the Heart . In her colorful and expressive paintings, Frisian artist Doet Boersma shows how special nature is when you look really closely.
Growth, decay, and renewal play an important role in her work. Boersma draws her inspiration from, among other things, earth, plants, light, animals, and the continuous interplay between all living things. Sometimes recognizable, sometimes almost mysterious: her paintings invite you to view nature with different eyes.
During Hertelân , both new and older work is on display, in small and large formats. The exhibition consists of three thematic lines: The Power of the Soil , Photosynthesis , and Inspired Nature . Together, they form a colorful journey through the connection between man and nature.
The exhibition takes place in the atmospheric Laurenskerk in Kolhorn and is part of Kunst in Kolhorn (KiK). A wonderful opportunity to combine a visit to the exhibition with a walk through the historic village.
