Discover the historic fort
Walk along the renovated fort route and discover inspiring exhibitions about the rich history of Fort Kijkduin and its inhabitants. In the interactive family exhibition 'A Soldier for a Day', children step into the shoes of a soldier themselves. Together with their parents or grandparents, they experience a unique and educational journey of discovery.
Fish feeding rounds in the aquarium
At the North Sea Aquarium, you can attend the popular fish feeding rounds daily (except Fridays) at 12:30, 14:30, and 15:30. Discover how marine and coastal animals hunt and eat. Extra fun: those who dare can feed the fish themselves using a special fish food bag.
Guided tours of the fort
Want to learn more about the fascinating history of the fort? Join a guided tour. Every Thursday and Saturday at 11:30 AM, a guide will take you past the most beautiful spots and stories. Participation is free for visitors.
Special: Defence Heritage Weekend
On Sunday, April 19, Fort Kijkduin will be the setting for the National Defence Heritage Weekend. Throughout the fort, actors and volunteers will bring the past to life with historical scenes and stories. A unique opportunity to experience history up close.
Practical information
Fort Kijkduin is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00. An ideal outing for curious children and their (grand)parents.
