Nature in the Zwanenwater is under pressure. To keep the dunes healthy, Natuurmonumenten is starting restoration measures this autumn. This ensures that this unique dune area remains a special place for nature and for visitors to enjoy recreation in the future. During the work (October - February), the Zwanenwater will be closed to visitors. The Zwanenwater is not just any dune area. The area features wet dune valleys, dunes with dune grasslands, dune pools, dune heath, and dune lakes. Many birds, orchids, and mushrooms also live in the area.
To provide you with comprehensive information and help you learn more about dune restoration, we are organizing a free excursion on Saturday, September 26.
