Wandeling door de Noordduinen
Julianadorp
Embark on a winter discovery tour through the North Dunes and be amazed by the story of the landscape, the animals, and the people that shape this area.
Take a look
Lace up your hiking boots and step into the winter dune landscape. During this guided walk through the North Dunes, between Callantsoog and Den Helder, you'll discover a diverse and vibrant nature reserve brimming with stories.
Accompanied by an experienced nature guide, you'll walk off the beaten path and learn to see things from a different perspective. You'll learn how sand drifts form, why the dune rabbit is essential for healthy dunes, and how plants and animals coexist here. Rabbits' digging helps keep grasses short and gives typical dune plants space to thrive – a small animal with a big impact.
Winter brings expansive views, fresh air, and a tranquil landscape. With a bit of luck, you'll spot unusual birds along the way or see tracks in the sand. Be sure to bring binoculars or a camera.
Practical tips:
This hike is partly off-road, so sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Dress appropriately for the season. Dogs are not permitted.
A wonderful afternoon for those who want to slow down, discover and enjoy the North Holland nature.
