Nature reserve Nollen-Zuid, right next to Den Helder-Zuid station, has a special history: it was once a bulb field, later a military training ground and motocross track. Now it has been transformed into a beautiful nature reserve with dunes, wet valleys and rare plants such as sea aster. During this excursion, a nature guide will take you right through the landscape and show you how nature has recovered and developed here in twenty years.
Enjoy the colorful flowers, fluttering butterflies and singing birds that feel at home in this transition from salt to sweet, wet to dry. A surprising green oasis in the middle of the city - but please note: this excursion only goes through the nature reserve Nollen-Zuid, not through the sculpture park of artist Rudi van de Wint, which is located opposite.
