Joe Speedboot is a Dutch drama film based on the novel of the same name by Tommy Wieringa and directed by Sam de Jong, starring Daan Buringa, Tobias Kersloot, and QiQi van Boheemen. The film follows Fransje Hermans, who ends up in a wheelchair after a bizarre accident and leads an isolated existence in the village of Lomark. He can no longer speak or move and has only one functional arm. His life changes when the charismatic and adventurous newcomer Joe Speedboot arrives in the village. A special friendship develops between the two, giving Fransje renewed hope for the future and prompting him to pursue his dreams and desires. At the same time, the question remains as to what role Joe truly plays in his life.
The screening room at the film house in the Cultuurschuur Wieringerwerf opens at 7:30 PM and the film starts at 8:00 PM. Admission is €6 per person.
