Film: I’m Still Here

I'm Still Here (2024) is a gripping true-life drama from director Walter Salles, starring Fernando Torres, Selton Mello, and Fernanda Montenegro.

The story takes place in Brazil in 1971, a time when the country is ravaged by a military dictatorship. Eunice is a mother of five and married to Congressman Rubens Paiva. When he is suddenly arrested by the authorities, her life collapses. Forced by the circumstances, Eunice must reinvent herself and take responsibility for her family, while fear and oppression are palpable everywhere.

This film tells the devastating story of a woman standing strong in a time of political repression. I'm Still Here received three Oscar nominations and won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
