On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2026, the Dijkgatbos will be the setting for SGW Dijkgatbos 2026: a spectacular cross-country competition for enthusiastic riders, horses, and ponies from all over the Netherlands.
The competition is open to BB, B, and L riders with horses and ponies, as well as M ponies. The route leads straight through the beautiful Dijkgatbos, where sport, nature, and history come together.
The theme of the route is 'Battle between Land and Water'. An appropriate theme, as the Wieringermeerpolder was flooded at this spot in 1945. After the war, the Dijkgatbos was built here, below sea level, just like the rest of the polder.
For participants, SGW Dijkgatbos is a special sporting experience in an impressive setting. For spectators, it is at least as beautiful: the cross is exciting, dynamic, and spectacular to watch.
Come watch, cheer on the riders, and experience a sporty weekend amidst the nature of the northern tip of North Holland. Everyone is warmly welcome!
