During Open Monument Day, the Willibrordus Church in Haringhuizen will be dedicated to the theme of resilient heritage on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. For this occasion, the church will be transformed into a special space where water, visuals, sound, and architecture come together.

Photographer Jeske Dijkstra presents her audiovisual artwork Bodies of Water in collaboration with Stichting Cultuur in de Noordkop (CiNK). Five video projectors bring the images together in an impressive projection 36 meters long and 6 meters high. Visitors can experience the performance sitting or lying down in the church, while the sound is played from different directions.

Bodies of Water presents intimate and raw images of water that, due to their abstract character, are reminiscent of painting. The images are accompanied by a soundscape by sound designer Rutger Muller, complemented by music from Vox Cosmica , based on the work of Hildegard von Bingen.

In addition, the art project reflects on the importance of water as the source of all life and encourages visitors to think more consciously about the value and vulnerability of water.

The performance will be shown every twenty minutes between 10:00 and 17:00 on both days. Admission is free and walk-ins welcome. Jeske Dijkstra will be present on both days and will give a brief explanation of her work around the screenings.

The project has been made possible in part by a contribution from the Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Board (HHNK).
