De Jut Fabriek

It started as a playful idea at the coffee table: to “do something with the plastic litter on the beach,” and has since grown into The Jut Factory Terschelling Foundation. We are Vincent Kooijman and Ivo Wiersma, the inventors of De Jut Fabriek. 

With a 'just do it mentality' we jumped into the deep end and started looking at what we could make with plastic. We started in our shed with hobby equipment, this gave us insight into the possibilities. It soon became apparent that if we really wanted to make a difference in reducing plastic waste, we needed to scale up. A more serious look at the social problem of plastic waste washing up on the beach gave us enough reason to start a foundation to provide a solution in the service of society.
