The WadExpeditions of VANhetWAD are developed from the idea that everyone should be able to enjoy the Wadden area. But in such a way that the Wadden area is not unnecessarily burdened. Adventurous and sustainable Wadden tourism. For example, we moor our ship at the ferry dam of Schiermonnikoog more often than we drop off participants near resting areas for birds, for example. We also prefer to avoid sailing past sandbanks where seals rest during low tide. We believe that seals do seek us out if they want to see us. And believe us, there is always a curious seal who will do so at an appropriate distance.

We take small groups of participants out onto the mudflats and teach them to actively look at the Wadden area. Then you see and hear so much more. Birds, seals, porpoises and the history of the Wadden. By working with small groups, we have time for our participants. Time to give tailor-made explanations about the Wadden Sea. So we easily switch from a comprehensible explanation for the youngest participants to more complex information about the Wadden Sea for adult participants. In this way, it is instructive and interesting for everyone and the WadExpeditions are the best alternative to a mudflat walk.

After a relaxing cruise on the Wadden Sea, we reach Schiermonnikoog. Here follows a WadExpedition between North Sea and Wadden Sea. The WadExpeditions are a combination between beachcombing and cornet fishing in the surf during a light beach walk of about 5 kilometers. On the basis of beach finds that Casper Meinders made in recent years on the beach of Schiermonnikoog, you get to know the Wadden area in a unique way through his unparalleled stories. This creates a delightful and honest adventure on the Wadden for all ages.
