Nieuwe Kerk
Den Helder
National monument church in water board style on the Nieuwe Kerkplein
Take a look
The Nieuwe Kerk is the oldest surviving church in Den Helder. This national monument, dating from 1839, recently received a new purpose.
Heritage with a water management character
The church was built in the Water Board style, designed by Hermanus Hendrik Dansdorp and Pieter Kock. As a former Dutch Reformed Church, the building is an important heritage site in the city center.
New purpose with social value
Today, the Nieuwe Kerk is owned by the evangelical congregation De Ambassade. This young community is strongly committed to social impact in the neighborhood, including meetings, support initiatives, and local connections.
