In 1994, Restaurant Pizzeria Toscanini, a true family business, was founded. In a canal house from 1599, located in the center of Franeker, a pizzeria was born out of love for Italian cuisine. Now, nearly 30 years later, Restaurant Toscanini has become a well-known name in the region. With over 70 seats, a beautiful terrace at the rear with space for 64 guests, and an owner who cooks with passion, craftsmanship, and energy, Toscanini is ready for the next 30 years.

For years, Toscanini has ranked among the top Italian restaurants in the Netherlands. Most recently, in 2025, Toscanini was selected as one of the top 44 restaurants in Friesland – and the only one from Waadhoeke. This achievement is a testament to the consistent quality and dedication the restaurant has shown for nearly three decades.
