Minnertsga is a terp village in the municipality of Waadhoeke, in the province of Fryslân. It is located northwest of Leeuwarden and has approximately 1,850 inhabitants. The language spoken in Minnertsga is Frisian. The village formerly belonged to the municipality of Barradeel.
Following the municipal reorganisation of 1 January 1984, the village became part of the municipality of Het Bildt and remained the only Frisian-speaking village in ’t Bildt until the municipal reorganisation of 1 January 2018.
In addition to visiting the impressive Menardskerk, you can also explore the area around the village. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea is only a few kilometres away. You can smell the salty sea air. There are several cycling and walking routes in the area.
