Spending the Night in the Church

Utterly simple, yet truly special.

The terp village of Peins has a 14th-century church, partly built of tuff stone. The low tower was added later because the old one was in danger of collapsing.

You can make your Ziltepad experience even more memorable by spending the night in the church. You sleep like a true pilgrim – also known as the refugio concept: utterly simple, yet truly special. Sleeping is on a camp bed, with only cold water and a toilet available. You need to bring your own sleeping gear. The refugio overnight stay is run by volunteers from the village. Some may also be willing to prepare breakfast or a warm meal. Discuss the options with them when making your reservation.

An overnight stay costs €20.00 per person. With this contribution, you support this church in this village.
