Take a look

On Sunday, July 5, Hortus Overzee will be entirely dedicated to Japan. The first edition was held 19 years ago on June 23, 2007, and has slowly but surely grown into a Japanese event that is also highly appreciated nationwide.

This day is a treat for our senses. Seeing, listening, feeling, smelling, and certainly tasting come together for a few delightful hours during Japan Day.

The Japanese Garden is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year. The day will be opened around 12:15 p.m. in the presence of, among others, Japanese Ambassador Michii.

View your visit as a journey of discovery; surprises await in every corner of Hortus Overzee. Admire Japanese Ikebana (3 different schools), painting, ikebana, Japanese tea and sweets, bonsai, Japanese ice cream, gyoza, music on koto, harp, and flute, kyudo archery demonstrations, aikido and iaido, samurai warriors, books, kimonos, tarot cards, ceramics, Japanese noodles, temari, antiques, and much more. There are also workshops.
