Hoek van de Bant is located on the Lauwersmeer. With north, southwest, south, southeast, east or northeast winds, conditions vary.
North and southwest winds can bring nice waves, although there are also areas without waves. West winds are suitable for speed surfing as they are offshore. With an easterly wind, there is short, choppy surf across almost the entire lake. The water is only flat close to the shore.
There is plenty of free parking. There is also enough space to rig and derig your sails, with grass covering most of the surface.
Facilities: toilet, no showers.
Water depth: 0.5 to more than 2 metres.
Beginners: moderately suitable.
Styles: freestyle, wave, speed, freeride and formula.
