Spot and photograph

The bird hide outside of the dike - the locals call it kiekkaaste - is a wonderful place to spot and photograph birds. Hundreds of dunlins forage on the mudflats and sometimes twites can be spotted on the marshes.

Not a birdwatcher? No worries. It’s still worth your time to take a stroll along the renovated path. With a bit of luck you’ll see not only seals but also harbour porpoises, the only species of whale that resides in the Wadden Sea. And even if they don’t appear you can still gaze at the vast views and the ever-changing clouds.
